this works out to be around every 6 months. A standard household using 5 litres a day? You may notice taste and rate of flow deteriorate gradually over the 6 months of your filter. Usage is a small sign of your water filter needs changing. The change takes place over a period of time you may not notice straight away. |

ABSORPTION:
Activated carbon is perhaps the most powerful absorbent known to man.
500g of carbon contains a surface area of roughly 500m2 and can
absorb literally thousands of different chemicals.
CATALYTIC REDUCTION:
a process involving the attraction of negatively charging condiment ions
to the positively charged activated carbon.
Organic compounds are removed by absorption and residual disinfectants
such as chlorine and chloramines are removed by catalytic reduction.
Our filters are made of coconut shell charcoal, and have a particle size of 0.5 microns.
A micron is equivalent to a 100th millimetre in size.
10 microns is equivalent to a grain of sand.
